With regard to the future we are pleased to inform you that we recently received the accreditation based on the norms ISO/ IEC 17021:2015 and the ISO/ IEC 27001:2013 (according to the requirements of ISO/IEC 27006:2015). These accreditationa additionally to the existing ISO 9001:2015 und ISO 14001:2015 accreditations.
What does an accreditation imply?
An accreditation body is designed to monitor the certification bodies in a competent, impartial and independent manner and can also known as a conformity assessment body. The certification bodies are assessed through inspections, based on national (DIN (for DE)), (NEN (for NL)), (BS (for UK)), european (EN) and international (ISO and IEC) standards. This applies to new, as well as existing accreditations. The aim is to convey justified trust to the customer.
What are the most current developments dealing wiht accreditation for QMSI?
QMS International has, in the last few months, been working on converting the existing conformity assessment DIN EN ISO 17021:2011 to the new standard DIN EN ISO 17021:2015. This is an accredited conformity assessment standard which has recently been renewed. Besides the described conversion of the existing ISO/IEC 17021 accreditation QMS International has also obtained a new accreditation for IT-Information-Security ISO/ IEC 27001:2013 (according to the requirements of ISO/IEC 27006:2015). The requirements of this norm are specifically for the IT-Information-Security-Systems for the execution of audits and the compilation of certificates with accreditation.
What does this mean for our clients?
All ISO/ IEC 27001:2013 certificates will be transferred in the coming period into certificates that are issued under the DakkS (Deutsche Akkreditierungsstelle) accreditation. This doesn’t have any impact on the existing certification proces. QMS International will, where necessary, get in contact in time with the clients in order to smoothly realise the transition of the certificates. The clients will receive an updated certificate with the DakkS Logo. This Logo imparts your certificate more international recognition as well as a higher market recognition on the field of your received certificate(s)
The ISO/ IEC 17021:2015 refers mainly to internal processes and their execution.
The main changes are in the area of:
- all existing certification processes and the corresponding documentation;
- the qualification and competence of the Auditors are evaluated very critically.
